Membership Advisor (ESG) - Lincolnshire

My client is a not for profit organisation looking to recruit a Membership/Engagement Advisor for their ESG (Environment, Social & Governance) sector.

 

Their vision is to help create a sustainable and connected economy for Lincolnshire & Rutland businesses. They strive to do so by connecting and supporting businesses to grow and prosper.

 

As a not-for-profit organisation, they reinvest membership subscriptions into providing services that directly benefit members and never losing focus on their three strategic priorities: People, Planet and Progress.

 

  • Hours are 09:00 – 17:00 Mon-Thurs 16:30 finish on Fridays
  • Hybrid working available with at least 2 days in the Lincoln office
  • Own transport essential

 

MAIN JOB PURPOSE

This role will be the primary point of contact for members in Lincolnshire & Rutland interested in ESG (Environment, Social & Governance). The role holder will be responsible for proactively supporting this service, coordinating topical roundtables and delivering the services within the membership package (including advice, guidance and signposting). The role will be an integral part of the membership team and will necessitate working closely with the Business Development Executives to recruit members to this initiative. They will also be the internal lead for the organisation’s own sustainability plans.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the primary internal lead for the ESG services, including developing and promoting the organisation’s own sustainability goals.
  • Support onboarding of new ESG members by understanding objectives and aligning them with services.
  • Organise and facilitate ESG roundtables to drive engagement. Taking full responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of ESG roundtables, including setting agendas, managing logistics, coordinating invites and attendee lists, and ensuring timely follow-up to maximise engagement and retention outcomes.
  • Create and support ESG-focused content and campaigns in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Collaborate with local councils on sustainability initiatives and funding opportunities.
  • Maintain up-to-date sector intelligence to inform member support, roundtable content, and the wider strategy.
  • Increase new membership acquisition.
  • Carry out prospecting activity to build a pipeline of warm leads.
  • Review and utilise lead lists for both warm and cold prospects.
  • Identify organisations that fit the target member profile.
  • Engage prospective members through a range of communication channels.
  • Design and lead outreach recruitment initiatives, utilising telephone, email, and LinkedIn communications to engage and convert prospects.
  • Deliver proactive retention activity, maintaining regular contact, flagging at-risk members, and strengthening long-term satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with members, exceeding expectations through advice, guidance, signposting, and collaborative opportunities.
  • Support lead generation and proactive recruitment of sustainability-focused businesses, meeting agreed team KPIs.
  • Actively promote and match members to additional internal services, products, and partner opportunities to add value and drive revenue.
  • Work with accounts team to monitor memberships, ensuring retention and renewal processes are supported.
  • Represent the brand externally and internally, acting as a visible advocate for ESG across events, partnerships, and communications.
  • Ensure accurate use of the CRM to log activity, track campaigns, monitor membership data, and produce reports for management and board.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Good knowledge of ESG with a relevant qualification.  Recent graduates will be considered if you have some BDM experience
  • Sales experience

Requirements

  • A full driver’s licence with business insurance (Access to a car considered essential as visits to members and events around the county are required)

  • An understanding of membership organisations
  • Project management experience
