Proposals Engineer - Lincoln

Our well established client is looking to recruit a Proposals Engineer to be based from their manufacturing site in Lincoln.

You will be joining a small experienced team of technical sales professionals.

Duties will include:

· Preparation of technical sales proposals for Air Cooled Heat Exchangers

· Reading of client specifications to interpret technical requirements

· Design of heat exchangers using software such as HTRI and Excel.

· Preparing cost estimates using historical pricing and sending RFQ’s to suppliers

· Preparation of sales handover to the project team and technical support internally

· Sizing fans and motors

· Sizing tube heat exchangers to match client thermal duty

· Selecting suitable fin tubes, materials and finishes

· Ensuring client requirements are included in the design and costing:

· plot plan space, electrical power required, nozzle sizes, instrumentation such is vibration switches, hazardous area rating, seismic and wind loads, atmospheric conditions, materials of construction, 3rd party inspection, Noise level limits.

· Pressure part certification PED or ASME U

· Producing full design costing and quotation and submitting it to the client.

· Following up quotations with phone calls and emails to the client.

· Helping develop new sales proposals for new products

· Maintaining good client relationships by proving rapid service and support

· Visits to customers and suppliers in Europe/worldwide, approx. up to once per month

QUALIFICATION REQUIRED FOR THE JOB

Degree graduate in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB (Minimum previous experience)

· Approx. 5 years experience in sales (With good commercial awareness)

· Preferably with estimating exp/fabrication assembly industry exp and heat transfer design field

ANALYTICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Thermal design – re: computer programmes – frequent (cost effective solutions)

· Costing data, from various sources/estimating/historic data re: pricing

· Comparisons of actual costs to standard costs

· Marketing data

· Negotiate with customers/price/delivery etc. Quoting

· Technical support data

BENEFITS

Hours are Mon-Thurs 08.00-16.45, Fri 08.00-12.00 (37 hours).

Salary £40,000 - £55,000pa.
