Our well-established, Lincoln based design and manufacturing client are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Inspector/Engineer to join their friendly team.
The objectives of this role are to assist the quality team in the drive for continual improvement in the quality of manufactured goods, services and drive out excess costs.
Perform routine in process and goods inwards inspections and create reports.
To perform simple calibration checks and other quality functions as required for absence cover.
Liaising with other departments such as Production, Sales, Project management, Purchasing, Engineering and Technical to meet on time delivery.
Duties: -
- Perform goods receipt inspections on materials, components and consumable items.
- Register stock receipts and defective supply using the ERP system.
- Maintain material traceability records and received goods marking.
- Interface with suppliers on quality and certification matters.
- Assist in Investigation of quality concerns, fault finding, correction and prevention including 8D investigation and reporting.
- Witness pressure testing and perform cleanliness examinations.
- Fix data plates to finished goods by drilling and riveting.
- Perform simple calibration checks on measuring equipment and gauges.
- Maintain calibration records.
- Perform in process and first of inspections.
- Assist in final inspections.
- Perform patrol inspections including welding and painting.
Requirements
- NVQ level 2 - Must be willing to undergo industry standard training and qualification for special inspections such as coatings and welding as required.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in engineering / quality background
- Conversant with ISO 9001 and pressure vessel construction standards (ASME VIII, PED 97/23/EC) is desirable.
- Previous supervisory experience

Salary £28,000- £32,000
Hours of work - Mon-Thurs 8am -16.45pm, Fri 8am-12pm. 37 hours
