Due to continued growth, my client is looking for a Transport Planner to join their busy transport operation at on the outskirts of Lincoln. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of products across the UK, supporting both customer service and operational performance.
This is a full‑time, permanent role, working 37.5 hours per weekday shift with more hours available. One Saturday required per month to be discussed on interview. Hours are between 06:00 – 18:00.

You’ll be paid an hourly rate of £15.00 (This can be increased for experience). You’ll also receive 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays). This will be reviewed, based on performance after 3 months.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Fully utilise all vehicles to ensure accurate and appropriate allocation of drivers/vehicles/trailers/customer deliveries/trunking and backhaul
- Control and plan operational deliveries for the following day and process all customer bookings to meet customers’ needs and expectations
- Work closely with the operations to ensure vehicles and trailers are available to support the transport requirement and advise the operation in a timely manner when there are any risks to vehicle or trailer availability
- Communicate effectively with all customers and work with them to understand and resource their schedules
- Identify, communicate, and drive any continuous improvements to continually develop the operation of the business
Requirements
- Previous experience working with planning teams and transport operations
- Strong customer service focus with excellent communication skills
- A good geographical knowledge of the UK
- Experience working with P routing and scheduling software would be advantageous
