Based in Scunthorpe, our well-established client is looking to recruit an experienced practical and motivated Workshop / Field Engineer to join their growing team.
Within the workshop, you will be responsible for preparing equipment ready for installation or maintaining/repairing equipment returned by customers. Within the field, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing and repair of equipment at customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and repairs on a range of vending equipment and hot drinks equipment.
- Strip down, rebuild, and refurbish machines in preparation for customer delivery.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs.
- Test machines to ensure correct operation before dispatch.
- Installation of equipment on customer sites.
- Attend customer premises to repair breakdowns and resolve technical issues.
- Accurately complete job sheets, service reports, and fault documentation.
- Manage spare parts usage and report stock requirements.
- Follow all company health, safety, and quality procedures.
- Represent the company professionally when working at customer sites.
- Maintaining accurate stock of spare parts and workshop materials.
The ideal candidate should have a good engineering or electrical background (qualification or experience) a hands-on attitude, and a willingness to learn.
Ability to fault-find using logical and methodical approaches
Confident using hand tools and test equipment
A positive, reliable, and flexible attitude
Full UK driving licence (essential for site visits)
Good communication skills and customer awareness
